Wanda van Heerden

I had the priviledge of meeting Wanda and to give her recognition during my music-motivational programme in Lydenburg.

Wanda matrikulated in 1995 at Lydenburg High School and gave birth to three children after her marrage in 1998.

In 2006 the family's life changed dramatically with the news that her husband was diagnosed with cancer.
Wanda did not shy away from the responsibility and took charge in the household, while caring for her husband.

Wanda realized that she had to become the breadwinner, and decided to enroll at UNISA to study for a teacher.
Despite the difficult circumstances - Wanda passed all her subjects.
Sadly her husband passed away in 2008 ending a long sickbed.

Being a single mother with three children is not an easy task, but Wanda is taking responsibility in a very dynamic way.
The children are doing fine and Wanda is always there for them.
She is currently employed is the admin office of the school untill she's completed her qualification as a teacher.

Dear Wanda,
I wish you all the best with your studies and thank you for the example you are living.
Your story is one of getting up and going on. . .You are a big inspiration to me.
