The story of this fenominal woman reminds me of Hannah in the Bible who would not give up on God to give her a son.
She stayed at Gods feet until she was given a son called Sameul. And you know the rest.....

Lynette, is trusting God for a miracle - like Hannah dit..... and is believing that her son will walk again and that God will do a miracle . . .I believe her because Jesus said "it will be according to your faith..... and your faith has made you whole"

Here is her story abour her son André - in her own words. . .

Andrè was born 6 August 1993, perfectly normal weighing 3kg. He didn't like to crawl and he walked normally for a while. At about 5 years we noticed he was walking on his toes. At 6 years we took him to the pediatrician who did some tests and had us go to the orthopedic guy and they wanted to see him again the next year. 1 June 2001 Andrè was diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. According to Dr's this disease causes a progressive dying of the muscles and at 10yrs the person is in a wheelchair and at about 20yrs the person dies because the muscles around the heart and lungs become too weak. We don't take this for our son.

I will never forget when I was at Dr. Johan Erasmus' rooms with him he was telling me about the implications of this disease. He had me send Andrè out to the waiting room with my mom and during our conversation I felt a sob coming from deep inside of me and I asked him if this was as bad as I was thinking and he said it's worse. I fell down on my knees in front of his desk and called out the name of Jesus over and over again. Dr. Erasmus walked around and pulled me up and said, You'll be doing a lot of praying for Andrè because that's all there is, no medical treatment can heal your child only God can'. I cannot thank this man enough for saying those words, he must have seen people healed to say this and he gave us hope in God. One day when our son is healed Dr. Erasmus will be one of the first to know.

Despite all this I still reverted to homeopaths and anyone who thought they could fix him. After some years Andrè refused to take in anymore medication I was feeding him. We stopped the DNA therapy and diets and oxygen baths he was doing. He would tell me that God would heal him and all this wasn't necessary. I have wasted so much money on rubbish like this and the things that he genuinely needs God has provided, his electric wheelchair was donated. God has provided what he has needed, the rest was a waste.

During this time we were taking him to any healing services we heard of all over the country - from Stilfontein to Greytown to Stanger and Reinard Bonkhe, Bennie Hinn, Past Chris somewhere in Jhb, a Russian Pastor and then one day Andrè said again that he just wanted to be a normal child and that this was enough. I promised him that I would not force him to go to any more healing services and if he felt that he wanted to go we would take him.

Andrè is in a high school now for the physically disabled, he is in Grade 10 and very intelligent. He gets prizes every year for the best academic student in the school. He has the greatest friends from primary school, they are all fit and athletic but they visit him often and school holidays our house is like a holiday resort, the kids book in and out for days and weeks at a time. They love him so much. Andrè has two younger brothers who are just great with him. They help him and play with him and love him to bits.

Andrè now weighs about 65kg and is unable to lift his arms or move his legs, his hands work well and I turn him during the night and help him on the loo and to bath and shave.

All through these years we have been praying and testifying that Andrè WILL walk. God will heal him. We pray - God let this cup pass over us, but not my will but Yours. I often ask God - ‘When' and He replies ‘In My time, not yours'. So many people - friends and people we never knew have given their lives to the Lord through Andrè. So many people have had visions and dreams that he is walking. Some of these people are friends and others just come up to us from nowhere and tell us that he will walk. I have written most of these dreams down and can fill pages with them all. Everytime we get tired and desperate God sends us a message through someone who had dreamt or had a vision of hope for him. God carries us.

We totally and completely believe that Andrè will be healed. We have seen too many times how God has healed very sick people, to not believe that Andrè will be shown that same mercy. Andrè himself has had a dream that he is running with a ball. One pastor told me - ‘You don't need healing, you need a Godly miracle' and that's exactly what we'll get. We truly truly believe God will heal our son and in a way that will make people believe in healing and miracles.

We're not giving up and neither is God. We believe in a God of miracles, a God of healing, a God of restoration, a God of provision, a God of love. He is our God and we trust in Him only.

One day Andrè will get up and walk and we'll let you know for sure.
