This very special lady, apart from the fact that she's attractive, becomes even more beautiful when you meet her - because of the love she radiates to people around her. She has a story like most of us. Her childhood was difficult as her parents got divorced when she was about two years old. Her dad left for Cape Town and her mom had to care of her without any support from her father. When Bernadette was sixteen her mom tragically died in a car accident, which left her with no means and no support. Her Father came to Johannesburg and instead of taking up his responsibility as a caring father - he signed all rights away to Bernadette's aunt to take care of her.
Although her aunt kindly tried to help out, she battled financially, which left Bernadette and her brother in a tough situation. But despite all the trials and heartache she endured, it never kindled her spirit. It contributed to make her the sensitive, understanding, thankful, loving caring person she is. Life could not get her down.
She recently celebrated her birthday and instead of having a celebration for herself, she turned it into a celebration for the poor - and asked everyone to bring gifts for the poor, like blankets and food.
When I gave her the star-lite in my presentation to her as a extraordinary woman - she walked off the stage and gave the star-lite to her special friend that sat next to her that morning.
That is Bernadette Ryan - thank you for being the person you are - an inspiration to us all!
